Tahini-Lemon Sauce

We’ve been a little lazy in our cooking lately, so it was time that we started freshening up our meals. To start more food adventuring, we decided to make a Tahini lemon sauce. It’s super easy and adds nice flavor.

You get the nuttiness of the sesame, sour from the lemon, and spicy from the spices so it compliments a lot of things: salmon burgers (we bought a bag from Costco so we were looking for different ways to mix it up!), grilled or roasted meat or vegetables, in a wrap/sandwich, and most recently with our lion’s mane “crab” cakes. And once you make it, you can stick it in the fridge and just use it whenever.

(Warning: label your jars in the fridge! I had crepe batter so I could make fresh crepes every morning next to the leftover tahini sauce, both saved in glass jars, and accidentally used tahini sauce!)

To make it: We just mix all the ingredients with a fork; once you add any liquid to tahini, it starts to thicken – it hits a peak at which point it will start to get more liquid-y so just add more oil/water until you hit the desired consistency. Mix in your seasoning and taste test to see if you want to add something else or more of something.

Ingredients: Tahini Sauce, Olive Oil, Water, Lemon Juice, Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, hot paprika, other spices
